The National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) held the teaching schools research and development (R&D) network annual conference in London on 19 November 2013. This report summarises the significant themes arising from the conference: why R&D is important, what is effective R&D, how to build the culture, and access to and dissemination of research. It concludes with suggestions for teaching school alliances and NCTL to take forward.
