Event Information

OVERVIEW

Providing for the professional progression of a teacher into their second year can be a challenge for schools. The PTSA Second Year Teacher Programme builds upon NQT training and seeks to deepen knowledge and understanding of Primary and Secondary teaching with a  mixture of conferences and visits to settings targeted at the teachers own phase.  Teachers will work on their own project through the year to provide a focus for reflection.  The programme will be run in conjunction with the University of Winchester (with optional Masters Credits) and allow teachers to balance training sessions with school placement visits and subject specific training.

“The 2nd Year course allowed me to remember what is important about teaching…This programme was about educating and developing our thoughts about teaching, teaching techniques and our ways of progressing into balanced and reflective teachers. I found this course was able to expose me to all that through a hands-on approach”
